Well, you may have noticed that each year I have changed the title of my Blog to rhyme with the year. I didnt do that this time. The good news is God's promises, His love, mercy and grace NEVER changes. He is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. He is always with you and is waitng for you to begin that personal relationship with Him. If you know Him, praise Him often. If you don't know Him, don't wait. His love is ever so GREAT and He thinks you are beautiful!! Join my Awakening! Love, Dee

City At Peace is AWESOME!!!!
There is a wonderful group in Washington, DC called City At Peace. They teach nonviolent conflict resolution via various exercises and ultimately the performing arts. Junior High and Senior High students from various areas, ethnicities and financial backgrounds come together to get to know themselves and each other. They learn to embrace their differences, understand their similarities and learn to respect and love each other regardless of their circumstances. For an entire year they go through a series and the outcome is an original play, which they write, choreograph, create the music and perform under the direction of Sandi Holloway, assisted by my lovely daughter, Shae Washington. Shae is also an alumni of the program and their latest play, entitled, "Living In Theory" was performed last weekend and, as usual, it was AMAZING!!! This June, for the first time in CAP history, they will also perform this play as street theatre. Dates to be announced. If you ever have the opportunity to attend one of their annual events you will never forget the experience. It is also a worthwhile organization to make a tax-deductible contribution to. See their site and video at www.cityatpeacedc.org.

TODAY MOM TURNED 93!!!
What joy it is to see my Mom smiling and happy on her 93rd birthday. She is so sweet and innocent. She has no idea that her brother, Robert, just passed away last Sunday. His funeral is Friday. It is odd to be so happy about one occasion and sad about the other. Then I pray and I have to remind myself of the beautiful person Uncle Robert was and how happy I should be that now he is no longer in pain, crippled by arthritis and as some would say, wasting away from a cancerous blood disorder. He never stopped smiling. I never heard him say one unkind word about anyone or to anyone. You could tell he had a peaceful spirit. My Mom has a peaceful spirit too but in her day, she was a little more apt to let you have it if she felt you needed a good dose of reality. haha Oh how she used to make me laugh when she would say this person was "just a fool", or that person was "acting like a dunce" or how someone had "lost the good sense God gave them." I miss those days but I am greatful for whatever days we have together. Love you Uncle Robert aka Uncle Rob-Bob. I'll miss you buddy. Say, "Hello" to my Dad, Grandpa and Father-in-Law for me and give Grandma a hug.
